Lyla | Northfield Newborn Photographer
Sweet Lyla came to visit the Northfield portrait studio for her Northfield newborn photography session and although the pictures show sweet sleepy baby there is more to this story. Miss Lyla is a great example of how things go at my Northfield newborn photography sessions.
Newborns have very different needs and understanding how they feel is SUPER important for a successful and happy Northfield newborn photography session. Lyla was giving me cues that said I am uncomfortable and with lots of time and patience we found what helped her feel comfortable and helped her sleep peacefully.
As you can see Lyla was wrapped up in all her Northfield newborn photography images. She strongly preferred being wrapped up tight and cozy!
Her favorite way to be wrapped was with her legs criss crossed in front of her and her arms crossed in front of her chest. Kind of like being curled back up inside of her momma.
After spending lots of time working with her, stopping for feeding, snuggle and bathroom breaks it was apparent at her Northfield newborn session that Lyla had some colic and reflux. Having her legs wrapped up helped soothe her angry tummy and made her feel contented. As a Northfield newborn photographer it is my job to make sure that I serve my clients the best that I can, and that includes my Northfield newborn clients too!
As we neared the end of her Northfield newborn session I talked to her mom and dad about how I was wrapping her and showed them with a wrap. I have so many wraps, some are duplicates, so I sent one home with them so they could hopefully help Lyla feel cozy at home too! I just love my job as a Northfield newborn photographer and wanted to share this special session since it shows how different each baby can be and how I will alter my plans to make sure that a session goes great for the newborn, the family and of course the images too!
Many people would think that keeping baby wrapped up could limit the images in your Northfield newborn photography session, however this is not true! Even wrapped up, as an experienced Northfield newborn photographer I am able to capture a large variety of images of these sweet babies. My favorites are the tiny detail images like fingers, nose, eyes and toes! There is lots of education, props and patience that goes into a newborn session and having a large variety of wrapping styles is especially important during a session like Lyla’s.
I am so happy for this sweet family as they welcome their beautiful baby girl into their home! Thank you for entrusting me with you precious baby and to preserve the special memories of this time in your lives.
