When to book?
The ideal time to book your Newborn Portrait Session is during your pregnancy before you begin your third trimester. This ensures that we have availability for your due date and have plenty of time to go through all the details with you to perfect your session for you and your family. Once your session is confirmed you can relax knowing that we have everything taken care of from there.
If you have had your baby or are nearing your due date we still encourage you to reach out to check availability for your newborn session.
What’s next?
Once you reach out we will be in contact to have a chat and get to know you. From there then will meet at the Northfield portrait studio to view all the amenities the studio has to offer including: comfortable seating, beverages, snacks, toys for children to play with and beautiful archival quality artwork only we provide. At this time we will show you the collection of studio props, backdrops headbands, bonnets and hats and client wardrobe. Simply said we have everything needed and are excited to show you and get your input on your favorites!
After our meeting at the Northfield portrait studio you will have your session fully planned and reserved for your due date! We are always here to help you plan your wardrobe or answer any questions that you may arise as you near your due date. Don’t worry about scheduling details yet, when you booked your due date we knew that your baby may decide to come early or late! That’s part of the planning that takes place on our end. We cannot wait to hear when your sweet baby arrives.

Congratulations! After months of waiting your sweet baby has finally arrived. This is so exciting and our favorite news to hear! Once you are comfortable we would love to hear from you so we can officially schedule in your newborn session date and time. Many families will choose to contact us when they go home from the hospital.
The typical timeline for babies to visit the studio is approximately 1-2 weeks after they are born. Some factors that may contribute to an earlier or later session including: circumcision timing, being born premature or any health concerns for mom or baby.
Timing is flexible on your newborn session however most newborns photograph easiest when they are younger. They are still very flexible and sleep longer portions of the day.

At your newborn session you will enjoy all the comforts of home with a comfortable place to rest, snacks and drinks, a fully planned session which comes with complete direction from Amber. Amber specializes in Northfield newborn and maternity portraits and will take care of every little detail for you! So you can sit back and relax and let the professional do her job.
